RM6-A DATA MODEM & ALE – 3, 6 kHz
The RM6-A Data Modem and ALE Controller is a high-data-rate LF and HF data modem and ALE controller designed for standards-based BLOS data communications in numerous maritime and NATO naval systems. Building on the success of its predecessor, the RM6, the RM6-A incorporates the latest generation hardware and software, matching the form, fit and interface layout of the RM6.
The RM6-A is ideal for long-distance point-to-point data communications, supporting ranges up to 10,000 kilometres via HF radio. It offers a maximum data rate of 9600 bps over a standard 3 kHz (SSB) HF radio channel and 19200 bps over an ISB channel.
The RM6-A features a built-in 2G ALE controller option and supports MIL-STD-188-110A/B, STANAG 4539 and related modems, as well as MIL-STD-188-141, App A (2G ALE) and App B (Linking Protection). It also supports the RAP1/RIPC and STANAG 5066 Annex E (ASCII) control protocols and is designed to operate in conjunction with an external STANAG 5066 ARQ server.
Recommended as an alternative to the RM6 in new installations, the RM6-A can either be installed into a 19-inch rack system or used as a desktop unit, with the front panel providing full local control of all settings and functions.
The functionality of the RM6-A is determined by the selection of one of the following software packs:
- M1: LF and HF Modem (SSB, ISB, Up to 19200 bps)
